The BCU Youth
Track and Field Club is a non-profited organization whose
primary purpose is to develop those skills and disciplines,
which are essential to learning and improving in the area of
track and field competition. Our mission is provide leadership
and opportunity to our young athletes, ages six to
seventeen and to:
Motivate our
athletes to improve their academic achievement
Develop good sportsmanship by promoting friendship
and fair play
Develop strong bodies, minds, self-discipline,
self-esteem and high moral standards.
Congratulation to BCU’s Chimere Ezuma who was a double
Silver Medalist in the 400m and 800m at the 2009 USA Track &
Field National Junior Olympic Championships at the Irwin Belk
Track on the campus of North Carolina A&T State University
in Greensboro, NC.Other participants at the 2009 JO’s were Janice
Lane (800M and 1500M), Julian
Walker(SP) and the Midget Girls 4X100M relay team of Jali
Barrett, Dominique Billew, Cheyanne Brady and Damyah Ward.
BCU also sent several athletes to the 2009 USA Youth Outdoor Track
& Field Championships held at EasternMichiganUniversity in Ypsilanti, Michigan. They were Bantams:
Jaylen Walker(LJ), Jimmy Dozier(100M,4X100M), Niko
Billew(100M,400M,4X100M), Elijah Smith(400M, 4X100M), Trent
Wiley(400M,800M, 4X100M). Midgets: Dominique
Billew(100M,200M,4X100M), Jali Barrett(100M, 4X100M, 4X400M),
Damyah Ward(200M, 4X100M, 4X400M), Cheyanne Brady(400M,
4X100M, 4X400M) , Artrea Williams(4x400M).Youths: Chimere
Ezuma,(100M,200M 4th place,400M 2nd
Place, 800M 2nd Place), Janice Lane(200M,400M
6th Place,800M 7th Place,1500M), Julian
